Setting Up Your Profile Page

If you're a new performer on Vanillaaudio.com, you'll receive an individual profile page that you can customize and add content to. Your profile is an important part of your presence on Vanilla Audio - it's where fans can find out more about you and your other platforms, sites, etc, and how to arrange custom work if you offer this service. It's also a precursor to setting up your own Private Posts area where you can take your own signups and custom orders.

Here are the basics of setting up your profile page:

Your account will have your profile picture already in place (based on your existing logos or photos you post, or a logo you send us). We've designed the profile pictures to have a consistent design with the rest of the site, but if you'd like us to change the image, just get in touch and let us know what you'd like to use instead.

To log in to your profile page, click the icon in the top right corner, and then enter your user name and password on the next page.

Just below the profile pic, you'll see a blank space for your bio. Double click to enter anything you'd like your fans and new listeners to know about you. Tell them about yourself, including the kinds of audio you do, for what kind of listener (M/F/A), whatever accent you have, etc.  Feel free to include all your links - to your subreddit, your social media, your other platforms (FYI - you don't need to add https://, you can just enter www.whatever.com)

Posting content

The first post on everyone's profile will be the large image of their profile picture with a short welcome message from Vanilla Audio. The tags on this image will show your user name on the site, for both hashtagging and mentions (ie #username and @username).

This is an example of cross-posting - this first post is by Vanilla Audio (the main account or timeline account of the whole site), and it appears in your profile because we @ your user name in the post. If anyone mentions you in a comment or post, it will appear on your profile page ,and vice versa.

You can't edit or delete cross-posted items, but if you want something removed, please contact us.

To create a text-only post, just type in the box and hit the paper airplane icon at the bottom right. To cancel or undo, hit the undo arrow to the left of the airplane.

To add photos, click the camera icon, for video click the video camera icon, and for audio, click the waveform icon. You can upload all three types of media in one post if you want. You can add text to go with it by typing it in, just as if you're creating a text-only post. To cancel, hit the undo arrow. Please remember that we only allow vanilla content on the site.

To add a photo or image to an audio post, please watch the video above to see how it's done. Please keep in mind that you may only use public domain photos or images you own the copyright to. Many stock photo sites also require that if you are using images for anything of an adult nature, the models in the photo must not be 'recognizable'.

Adding Your Audios

We encourage you to add your vanilla-themed performance audios to your profile in the same way you would post them to soundgasm, YouTube, etc. If we have chosen some of your work for publication on the main timeline, those posts will automatically appear in your profile and we ask that you not publish them again. If you have audios you wish to submit to us for consideration, please don't post them to your profile but submit them here instead.
